Canon PhotoMarathon 2008

Look at how excited we were when we got to register for the marathon plus receiving a Canon PhotoMarathon shirt! We thought that we didn't get to register. We decided to register for the open category at first, in the end, we got to register under the student category.
I can't really type down every single thing we did yesterday. One thing, we did a lot of travelling on foot. There were 3 assignments. We were given three and a half hours to go anywhere to take pictures that related to each assignment. It included the time to upload one picture which I wanted to submit. We used the remaining time to relax.
We went to many places, Esplanade, Arab Street, Bugis, Clark Quay, Boat Quay, Peninsula and more. Most of the time, we walked. So you guys should know how tiring it was. Imagine, you walk almost 2 hours or more for each assignment. It was fun though it was tiring. We came across with many friendly people, locals and tourists. They would ask what we were doing and why we were wearing the shirt. I'm not trying to boast, but letting you guys know about the experience. We also saw and met some celebrities. I got to take a picture with Louis, the drummer from Helven at Peninsula! Also, Glenn (or Glen?) Ong smiled at us when he was entering the exhibition hall at Suntec and we saw the guy who acts in some shows at Channel 5 and Arts Central. I don't know his name but I know he's bald.
Oh yes, there were 1300 participants joined the event and we had a group photo taking but I don't know where I can get that picture. Not forgetting, Mr Kok came down to Suntec City to meet us before we got to know the last assignment. He even bought us some food and drinks. He headed home after the last assignment was announced. At night, Ayesha went home first as she needed to go to her aunt's place. So, left me and Issha. They kept delaying the results and I got so tired of waiting. The results were announced like almost at 10. Some of the winners under the student category came from Polytechnic, ITE and Junior College. Once they finished annoucing the winners for the student category, we decided to go home as it was already late. Took a train home together. Though we didn't win, we gained new experience at least. I want to join again next year! (:
I don't know what else to type. Maybe I'll be uploading the pictures I took to my new Multiply account if I have the time. So, here are the pictures I submitted.
Assignment 1: Change
Assignment 2: Dreams
Assignment 3: Freedom

At the end of the day, the tired face
Lastly, a message specially for my dear boyfriend.
Our 14th month of being together is in few hours time. So, I would like you to wish you a happy 1 year and 2 months anniversary here in case you don't feel like talking to me later. I don't know what I did that hurt you. I'm sorry for not talking to you over the phone last night. I'm sorry for making you wait. I was tired and you should know that I would hit the sack after a very tiring day. I don't know that I troubled you so much. It was sweet of you to wait for me, but I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make you sad. I was so tired and my whole body was aching. I was awake since 5.30 in the morning and I reached home almost 11. I hope you understand. I'm sorry once again. Whatever it is, I miss you so much. Thanks for being with me till this very day. I hope that we can still stay strong and forever as one. I love you.
I think I'm not going to school tomorrow. My grandmother asked me to see the doctor. My body keeps aching, especially my shoulders. She massaged me for how many times yet the pain stays the same. It hurts so much. If I don't come, I'll come back at noon to meet Mr Kok as he needs to take a picture of the three of us. So yeah. Take care people. My arms are starting to ache, can't type any further. By the way, my arms are aching not because I walked a lot. I didn't walk by my arms. It's just that my bag was heavy.
P/s: The concept of Mama's Carribean and Clinic Bar is cool!
